BAPETEN Receives Visit from BPOM to Enhance Technical Capacity for Food Safety Oversight Against Radionuclide Radiation
Kembali 29 Oktober 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 4 lihatBAPETEN received a visit from the National Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) as part of efforts to enhance technical capacity in overseeing food safety related to radionuclide radiation exposure, particularly Cesium-137. The visit also included a laboratory observation activity on radionuclide contamination testing, held on 29 October 2025 at Building C of BAPETEN in Jakarta.
Representing BPOM, the Head of the Food Export Surveillance and Competitiveness Development Team, Betty Noegraha Ardi, expressed her appreciation to BAPETEN for the facilitation and support provided in this technical capacity-building activity. She stated that this initiative is essential for strengthening technical competencies in food safety oversight related to radionuclide radiation, which includes the use of radiation measurement instruments, scanning procedures, calculation and documentation of results, sampling procedures, as well as testing methods and interpretation of laboratory results in accordance with recommended standards.
The visit was received by the Head of BAPETEN’s Mobile Expert Support Team (MEST), Nurman Rahmadi, who delivered welcoming remarks and provided explanations on the introduction of radiation measurement devices, procedures for their use, calculation methods, and documentation of results in accordance with BAPETEN’s standard operating procedures.
This activity is part of the Technical Capacity-Building Program for Food Safety Oversight Against Radionuclide (Cesium-137) Exposure, which began with a session at the BPOM office on 28 October 2025 and continued with a visit to the radionuclide contamination testing laboratory at BAPETEN on 29 October 2025.
Melalui dukungan dan keahlian teknis BAPETEN, diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat memperkuat kerja sama lintas lembaga dalam memastikan pelaksanaan pengawasan dan pengujian terhadap paparan radionuklida, khususnya Cesium-137, dilakukan secara ketat, akurat, dan sesuai dengan standar teknis internasional.
