Closing Interregional Training Course on Drafting Regulations for Countries Embarking in Nuclear Power Programs
Kembali 20 Desember 2024 | Berita BAPETEN | 11 lihatBAPETEN hosted the Interregional Training Course on Drafting Regulations for Countries Embarking in Nuclear Power Program held by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Jakarta, December 9-20, 2024. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the participants in drafting and/or revising national nuclear safety regulations in their respective participating countries.
The event was opened by IAEA Expert Petr Krs, who delivered a review of the previous day's activities. Then, presentations were made by the participants regarding the results they got during this activity. These presentations included recommendations and suggestions for regulatory agencies, cooperation between countries, and future action plans for institutions and themselves.
Furthermore, Petr Krs again made a presentation on the summary of this training activity. Some of the things conveyed include the establishment of national nuclear security regulations, the role of the nuclear power regulatory body, and the three stages in the nuclear surveillance regulatory system.
The event continued with a question and answer discussion between the participants and the IAEA Expert about the preparation of regulations in their respective countries. Then, all participants were given certificates as a sign that they had completed the training.
In closing, the Head of the BAPETEN Education and Training Division (BDL), Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin, expected that this activity could become a place to exchange experiences about nuclear power supervision, especially related to the energy sector. "I hope we can contribute to each other, help each other, and maintain communication between countries in the context of nuclear energy programs.
