Kembali 28 November 2024 | Berita BAPETEN | 18 lihatThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) received a visit from the Section Head of Regulatory Infrastructure and Safety—International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Hilaire Mansoux, at the BAPETEN Office on Thursday, November 28, 2024. This meeting aimed to discuss technical cooperation between BAPETEN and the IAEA.
At this meeting, Acting Chairman of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo, Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Haendra Subekti, Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, Director of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR) Ishak, Director of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR) Asep Saefulloh, Director of Regulation of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials Mukhlisin, and Head of Centre for Regulatory Assessment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR) Taruniyati Handayani, Head of Bureau of Legal Legal Affairs, Cooperation and Public Communication Indra Gunawan, Head of Education and Training Division Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin and Manager of Functional Group Activities of Cooperation Indah Annisa.
Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, Sugeng Sumbarjo, in his speech, expressed his appreciation to Hilaire Mansoux, who had visited BAPETEN. On that occasion, he talked about the development plan of President Prabowo Subianto, one of which was regarding energy fulfilment planning.
Meanwhile, Hilaire Mansoux also expressed his gratitude for being received at the BAPETEN office. "This morning I had the opportunity to attend the National Workshop on Authorization and Inspection of Cyclotron on the 8th floor; thank you for hosting this Regional Workshop," he added.
In addition to meeting with BAPETEN leaders, Hilaire Mansoux also had the opportunity to visit BAPETEN's Central Alarm Station (CAS) and Nuclear Emergency Response Facilities. Mansoux expressed his appreciation for the nuclear energy utilization monitoring facilities at BAPETEN.
The activity continued with a presentation from the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, Haendra Subekti. The Asian Nuclear Safety Network (ANSN) then continued with a presentation on the Balis Infrastructure at BAPETEN by the Director of DPFRZR, Ishak, and finally a presentation by Hilaire Mansoux on the Overview of IAEA Activities in Radiation, Transport, and Waste Safety.
The activity was closed by Haendra Subekti, who hoped that this activity could encourage a better transformation in supervising the use of nuclear energy in the future. "Thank you for the good discussion this morning. I hope the results of this discussion can be a shared lesson in improving supervision of the use of nuclear energy in Indonesia," he concluded.
