BAPETEN leadership received a visit from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Indonesia H.E Fransisco De Asis Aguilera Aranda accompanied by representatives from Empresarios Agrupados Maria Teresa Dominguez Bautista at the BAPETEN office, Wednesday, January 31 2024. In this activity, Acting Chairman of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo accompanied by Deputy for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Haendra Subekti, Head of Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation and Public Communications Indra Gunawan, and Coordinator of the Cooperation Function Group Indah Annisa.
At this meeting, Sugeng Sumbarjo talked about his visit to Spain in 2022. He described his visit to one of Tecnatom's facilities in Spain. According to him, the development of nuclear surveillance technology in Spain is very sophisticated.
"At that time we saw the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Simulator and it was very good," said Sugeng.
Meanwhile, H.E Fransisco De Asis Aguilera Aranda expressed his gratitude for being welcomed to visit the BAPETEN office. He hoped that this meeting will be the first step in the desire to carry out bilateral cooperation in terms of monitoring the use of nuclear energy between the two countries.
It is expected that this meeting can become a forum for exchanging information regarding the formation of regulations for the use of nuclear energy in Indonesia.
