The event began with remarks by Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Yus Rusdian Akhmad. In his remarks, Yus said that the Indonesian government was committed to develop technology and international standards on nuclear energy utilization, how to improve nuclear regulation infrastructure in Indonesia, as well as ensuring public safety and protecting the environment from radiation hazards.

The remarks were continued by Carl-Magnus Larsson as the IRRS representative who said that the IRRS was ready to help BAPETEN provide added value to the workers at BAPETEN and improve its performance, particularly in the field of nuclear safety and radiation. He also hopes that the collaboration will be intense with the participants through this activity.

The IRRS Mission itself aims to review the regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety, as well as their effectiveness against the IAEA safety standards as the international benchmark. The IRRS Mission is expected to be serves as a good platform for ensure public acceptance of nuclear power.

Previously, the event began with a courtesy call by representatives of the IRRS team, namely Carl-Magnus Larsson, Jovica Bosnjak, Ugur Bezdeguemeli, and Petr Krs, and were received directly by the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Yus Rusdian Akhmad, accompanied by the Director of The Regulation of Supervision of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Material Taruniyati Handayani and Director of the Regulation of Supervision of Nuclear Installation and Material Control Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga.
