To provide an understanding of radiation and the basics of radiation protection and safety to support employees in carrying out their duties in supervising the use of nuclear energy, the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) Education and Training Division (BDL) held a Radiation Protection and Safety Training for 30 BAPETEN Government Employees with Employment Agreements (PPPK) from May 19 to 26, 2025. The Radiation Protection and Safety Training is mandatory for all BAPETEN employees.

The event began with a report from Iza Farikha from BDL. In her report, Iza stated, "The participants invited to this training were 33 PPPK from both technical and non-technical units. Three individuals were unable to attend this training."

The event then continued with remarks from the Head of BDL BAPETEN, Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin, who emphasized the importance of this training for BAPETEN employees, especially new employees. "All new employees must understand the basics of radiation protection and safety, even if they work in non-technical fields. Therefore, we must understand what BAPETEN is and what its duties are," Syuryavin said.

The first session covered nuclear energy supervision policy, presented by Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin. Subsequent sessions will cover several topics, including regulations and standards related to radiation safety, the biological effects of radiation, training instructions, and other materials, the following day.
