Attendees included DPR RI Commission XII member Rokhmat Ardiyan, Head of the BAPETEN Internal Auditors Achmad Bussamah, Acting Head of the Planning, Information, and Finance Bureau (BPIK) Roy Candra Primarsa, and Universitas Kuningan lecturer Toto Supartono. The event was attended by 150-200 participants from various segments of society in the Kuningan area.

In his remarks, Acting Head of BPIK Roy Candra Primarsa explained BAPETEN’s duties and functions in ensuring the safety and security of nuclear energy utilization for workers, the public, and the environment. "BAPETEN is here in Kuningan with the hope that this education benefits the community and serves as a form of oversight regarding users who do not comply with nuclear utilization regulations in Indonesia," he added.

Meanwhile, Rokhmat Ardiyan highlighted the importance of BAPETEN’s role in overseeing nuclear energy utilization in Indonesia. He noted that if a nuclear power plant (NPP) were to be built in the future, BAPETEN could oversee its operation by formulating regulations, issuing licenses, and conducting periodic inspections.

The event continued with a presentation by the Head of the BAPETEN Internal Auditors, Achmad Bussamah, regarding the technical aspects of nuclear utilization in Indonesia, as well as the associated risks and benefits. He explained that while nuclear technology carries risks, it also offers numerous benefits in daily life.

"It is BAPETEN's duty to ensure that nuclear energy utilization proceeds with controlled risks, ensuring safety and security," he stated. The event concluded with a Q&A session involving in-person attendees, covering topics such as waste management and natural radiation. It is aimed at helping the public to gain an understanding of BAPETEN’s duties and functions, enabling them to act as civilian partners to the agency in carrying out its regulatory oversight responsibilities.
