This event was organized to strengthen, foster, and raise awareness regarding the assurance of radiation safety for radiology patients. The event opened with remarks from the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, who noted that in previous years, this seminar was known as the Si-INTAN (Patient Dose Data Information System) Seminar. "This is the first time SEKARPADI has been held under this name, following the previous Si-INTAN seminar series," he explained.

Furthermore, the event served as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences regarding practices and innovations in applying the principles of justification and optimization of radiation protection and safety in medical exposures. "Every policy and regulation must be based on scientific evidence; this event is expected to provide BAPETEN with invaluable input for drafting and updating regulations, particularly those concerning patient and radiation worker safety," concluded Haendra.

The event was divided into two sessions. The morning session featured an expert speaker from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Asral Hasan, who discussed the Ministry's role in strengthening radiation dose management systems and the culture of radiation safety quality for patients. This was followed by a presentation on the implementation of Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRLs) and radiological reviews as effective measures for ensuring radiation safety quality for patients, delivered by Benny Zulkarnaien from the Indonesian Society of Radiology (PDSRI). Additionally, guest speaker Yongsu Yoon from Dongseo University, Korea, presented the latest technological innovations and procedures in radiology aimed at optimizing radiation protection for patients. Furthermore, the afternoon session featured 22 oral presentations divided into four tracks, covering topics related to the implementation of justification and optimization regarding radiation protection and safety in RDI facilities, nuclear medicine, and radiotherapy.

The event concluded with the announcement of the ten best presenters. The proceedings wrapped up with the formulation of recommendations and closing remarks by Dedik Eko Sumargo, Head of the Centre for Assessment of Radiation Facility and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR). He congratulated the top presenters and expressed his expectations and appreciation regarding the event. "It is our shared hope that this year's SEKARPADI serves as a catalyst for all of us, particularly healthcare facilities, to enhance radiation protection and optimization efforts so that the public may reap the benefits. We hope these innovations will be put into practice and serve as models for other healthcare facilities. May the harmonious collaboration among all stakeholders be further optimized.
