SIB Examination Services for Nuclear Installation and Material Officers at the TRIGA 2000 Reactor

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Licensing of Nuclear Installation and Materials (DPIBN), continues to provide testing services to obtain a Work Permit (Surat Izin Bekerja or SIB) for Nuclear Installation and Material (IBN) officers. The SIB testing service implements Article 19 of Law No. 10 of 1997 on Nuclear Energy, which mandates the obligation of certain officers at nuclear installations to have a work permit. The testing was conducted as a hybrid session over four days, from March 17 to 20, 2025.
The testing process refers to Regulation of the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency No. 7 of 2019 on Work Permits for Nuclear Installation and Material Officers, which states that to obtain a work permit, IBN officers must meet the requirements and pass the IBN officer examination administered by BAPETEN. The testing consists of three types of exams: a written/electronic exam, an oral exam, and a practical exam.
The IBN officer test was conducted for supervisor and operator qualifications at the TRIGA 2000 Reactor using the Balis Pekerja application, the CAT (Computer Assisted Test) module, and BAPETEN. The test was conducted in written/electronic form, and the practical test was conducted for two days offline at the TRIGA 2000 Reactor Area, Bandung, and the oral test and presentation of the practical test results were conducted for two days online. The implementation of the practical test was assisted by a companion examiner from DPFK-BRIN. This test aims to ensure that the competencies possessed by the officers have been met to ensure safety for officers, the community, and the environment. (DPIBN/Alvin/BHKK/CD/Translator: GP)
