Technical Guidance on Risk-Based Business Licensing for Irradiator Facility Operations and Radiation Safety in Non-Destructive Testing Applications
Kembali 30 Oktober 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 4 lihatThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) organized Technical Guidance on Risk-Based Business Licensing (OSS-RBA) for Irradiator Facility Operations and Radiation Safety in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Applications on October 30th, 2025, in Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
The event began with a report presented by Grace Esterina, Activity Manager of the Research and Industrial Facility Licensing Function Group, who stated that the activity was attended by 40 business actors in the field of irradiator utilization and NDT.
Zainal Arifin, Deputy for Licensing and Inspection of BAPETEN, in his opening remarks, stated that the utilization of nuclear energy in Indonesia is expanding, and therefore, a shared commitment is required to comply with and maintain radiation safety in the use of nuclear energy. "Use nuclear energy with conscience, as the role of the user is crucial for radiation safety," he added.
The event continued with a presentation on the Supervisory Policy for Licensing the Utilization of Ionizing Radiation Sources (SRP) by the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), Asep Saefulloh Hermawan, and on the Operational Permit for Irradiator Facilities by Radiation Supervisor Muttaqin Margo Nirwono, and on Radiation Safety in the Use of SRP for UTR Activities by Radiation Supervisor Ilham Hidayat. This was followed by a discussion/questions and answers session, and licensing consultations.
In his closing, Director of DPFRZR expressed his hope that this event would strengthen the commitment of all stakeholders to support the achievement of radiation safety in the utilization of ionizing radiation sources for irradiators and UTR activities. [DPFRZR/Sugi/BHKK/YL].
