This dissemination (Bakti Pengawasan) event was themed "Supervisory Service for Nuclear Oversight: Ensuring Safety, Security, and Protection" and was attended by 150 student representatives from various universities in South Lampung Regency. Also present were the Head of Kalianda District, heads of South Lampung Regency government agencies, and the Deputy Speaker of the South Lampung Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

The event was opened by BAPETEN’s Deputy Chairman for PKN, Haendra Subekti, who stated, "This event is an effort to introduce BAPETEN, its duties, and its functions, and serves as a communication channel between BAPETEN and the public." Haendra further explained how nuclear energy is utilized to support food security in the Republic of Indonesia.

The activity continued with remarks from the Deputy Chairperson of Commission XII DPR RI, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, who emphasized, "The utilization of nuclear technology in Indonesia holds immense potential across energy, health, agriculture, and industry sectors. However, we must also be aware that nuclear utilization carries serious implications for safety, security, and the environment. Therefore, robust regulation and consistent oversight are key to ensuring that nuclear utilization truly delivers benefits without posing risks."

The event continued with a presentation by BAPETEN Radiation Supervisor Bambang Eko, who provided an introduction to nuclear technology, the various applications of nuclear energy in Indonesia, and the regulatory oversight mechanisms implemented by BAPETEN. The session was further enriched by a practical demonstration on measuring radiation exposure from radioactive sources using prepared equipment.

The activity concluded with a discussion and a question-and-answer session between the speaker and the attendees. It is expected that this event will foster accurate public awareness and understanding regarding nuclear energy. [BHKK/AQ/Translator: GP]
